13 Wonderful Websites using WooThemes

Nothing pleases Adii, Magnus or myself more than to see our WooThemes dotted around the internet with a lot of people taking the time, effort and creativity to customize their theme to give it that extra wow factor.

Within our popular, registered-users only support forums we have a dedicated forum to showcase these customizations. We certainly plan to create a gallery viewable to all our site visitors showcasing the wonderful work, but before that happens I thought I would share with you some of my favourites.

In no particular order I present to you 13 Wonderful Websites using WooThemes:

FreshNews Theme Showcase

Atomic Popcorn

A site dedicated to movie reviews, news, and trailers. The design has been kept nice and clean with an unobtrusive flash header.

GoMediaZine

Go Media is a group of guys and girls who are passionate about art and graphic design. The website is hugely popular with over 9600 subscribers. The theme design is eye candy with a beautifully illustrated, colourful background image.

MTB by 198

A mountain biking enthusiast who blogs about new products, industry news and ride reports. Design wise the header space has been nicely arranged, with an action shot capturing the fast pace of the sport, whilst the background image captures the science behind the bike.

Salmon Crazy

Magnus’s favourite WooThemes customization, probably due to the fact that he is fishing mad and that he is from Norway. The design contains a beautifully intricate header space and earthy brown background colours.

FlashNews Theme Showcase

The Piss Biscuit

Not quite sure how the name originated… John (a.k.a Piss Biscuit) is not only a great web designer, but also one of our helpful WooThemes forum ninjas. For his personal website he has taken a fun, collage approach in customizing FlashNews.

Gazette Theme Showcase

Fuel Your Creativity

An ever growing, open forum where everyone is welcome (and encouraged!) to exchange creative ideas and tips. Design wise the theme is practically out of the box, but these guys have added some neat functionality to submit links.

SA Rocks

SA Rocks is a proudly South African website spreading the positive news and stories coming out of our beautiful country. The design customization was actually done by myself and it is in my showcase not to promote my skills, but to hopefully inspire some people to look at the Gazette framework differently and come up with some creative, colourful renditions.

Steamy Kitchen

Steamy Kitchen is the delightfully tasty blog of the cooking instructor, food writer and photographer Jaden Hair. Jaden requested my help to personalise the Gazette theme somewhat. Although she has spent many hours destroying my neat code on a quest to conquer web design which we often joke about, you should find the site easy to navigate. Make sure you visit her custom built “Recipes” page to get your taste buds dancing.

The Live Wire Theme Showcase

Social Rugby World Championships 2009

In Cape Town 2009 the first social rugby championships will take place with teams participating from all over the world. Another design I was responsible for and have included in this showcase to demonstrate the Live Wire flexibility. You will notice an extra column in the design.

Vagablond

The globetrotter’s guide to fashionable travel. A clean design presenting a lot of content in a minimalistic fashion. The colours are calm and soothing, whilst the typography is elegant.

The Blog of Steffan Antonas

Steffan works “a sweet gig at Callaway Golf, and in my free time I surf, design, read a ton and write this blog. Steffan has approached the Live Wire theme differently, which is exciting to see, and wrapped all 3 columns in one white container, giving it quite a different look and feel. He has also added some neat widgets to the middle column for you to stay up to date with his life stream.

Original Premium News Theme Showcase

Hollywire

The hugely popular HollyWire.com has all the latest news on Celebrity Haps and MisHaps. The theme customization is playful and colourful with a definite magazine feel to it. Additional advertising spots have been added to the theme, demonstrating the theme’s potential to grow with your company and help you make money.

The Line of Best Fit

A community of music lovers chatting about and reviewing everything to do with music. Their site design has a trendy, pop art, rock and roll feel to it with splashes of bright pink and chunky text headers.

    I try to undo.
